VISIT TO JACKSON'S WOLD GARDEN

Members of Burnholme Gardening Club paid a very enjoyable afternoon visit to Jackson's Wold Garden which is just off the A64  at Sherburn halfway between Malton and Scarborough and on the Northern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. It is owned by Richard and Sarah Cundall who moved into the Nineteenth Century farmhouse when newly married in 1984.  The original rough paddock and array of farmyard buildings, with no trees,  beds or borders  now form  beautiful gardens surrounded by woodland, which  continue to evolve due to  their shared passion for gardening.  Richard and Sarah made us very welcome and guided us round the gardens.  We entered through a beautiful walled garden with fantastic borders with surprising vistas of the house along green lawns and pathways leading into the natural woodland. The afternoon was rounded off with tea and cakes which were served in the natural  limestone barn - a perfect ending to a perfect afternoon.

Hopefully the pictures below  illustrate the pleasure we found in this garden.
